Replace or renew your green card.
Lost, stolen, damaged, or expiring? Form I-90 replaces or renews your permanent resident card. Your status doesn't change โ only the card.
When to file Form I-90
- Your ten-year green card is expiring (file within the six months before expiration) or has expired;
- Your card was lost, stolen, or destroyed;
- Your card is damaged or has incorrect information due to a USCIS error;
- Your name or other biographic information has legally changed;
- You never received the card USCIS produced.
Important: this is not for conditional cards
If you hold a two-year conditional green card, do not use Form I-90 to renew it โ you must file Form I-751 to remove the conditions instead. Filing the wrong form costs time and money.
Does my status lapse if the card expires?
No. You remain a lawful permanent resident even if the physical card expires โ but an expired card complicates travel and proving work authorization, so it's best to renew on time.
How we help
We confirm I-90 is the right form (vs. I-751 or naturalization), prepare the filing, and handle any follow-up. See USCIS Form I-90 for official instructions. If you're close to citizenship eligibility, we'll discuss whether to renew or simply naturalize instead.
Renew the right way.
